Arielle Condoret Schechter, AIA, is a licensed, registered architect based in Chapel Hill, NC, who specializes in Modernist, energy-efficient buildings with a focus on passive houses, Net Zero houses, and Micropolis® Houses, the collection of modern, sustainable tiny house plans she designed. A “green” architect long before the concept became mainstream, Arielle’s work has been featured in numerous publications and on a host of design blogs. Most recently, Green Building & Design magazine named her the summer’ of 2020’s “Architect to Watch.” She is a lifelong environmentalist and animal advocate. She lives in Chapel Hill with her husband, Arnie, and an assortment of foster animals in a Modern house she designed.

Jay Fulkerson, Architect, PLLC, is a full-service architectural firm. Jay has been a registered architect for over 35 years and has practiced in Chapel Hill, North Carolina since 1988, bringing a wealth of experience in sustainability and energy efficiency in design and construction. His designs stress an attention to orientation with regards to the sun’s daily and seasonal path to create airy, natural light filled spaces that minimize energy expenses and material costs over the long term. Jay’s emphasis is always on understanding and interpreting the wants and needs of the client; the client’s ideas combined with Jay’s extensive design, construction, and green building technologies experience are the key to a successful final product that fits the client’s budget.

Kevin Murphy, President and Founder of Newphire Building Corp. – Kevin is a Licensed General Contractor, a Certified Passive House Builder, a member of the Passive House Alliance and a member of the Durham, Orange, Chatham Home Builders Association High Performance Homes Council.
Newphire specializes in ultra-energy efficient, new homes that are built to the rigorous Passive House building standards. Newphire is passionate about building beautiful, comfortable, high-performance homes that canachieve net-zero energy status. Kevin has served as project manager on three Certified Passive Houses in the state of North Carolina and, to date, has built 11 net-zero energy homes in the Triangle. Jenny Hoffman, owner and principal designer at J. Hoffman Studio, is a residential/commercial architectural designer and licensed general contractor. Jenny is a member of the Durham, Orange, Chatham Home Builders Association High Performance Homes Council and has been featured as an innovative woman builder in the Triangle. J. Hoffman Studio is a full-service Design+Build firm located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. They offer start to finish design/construction of custom homes and renovations as well as a la carte residential and light commercial design services.
